Tambuco has an intense recording activity that has deserved important acknowledgements.

His album Carlos Chavez Complete Chamber Music, received three GRAMMY nominations: Best Classical Album, Best Chamber Ensemble and Best Latin Classical Album. His album Rítmicas was chosen by Audiophile Audition as one of the best CDs of the year.
Tambuco also recorded with Kronos Quartet on their album Nuevo, also nominated for a GRAMMY. That have recently recorded with composer Thomas Newman, the Soundtrack for the James Bond film Spectre, as well as two albums for the Japanese label Meister Music, both of which received the Record Jeijetsu recognition.
